Executive Briefing

Student Voices on AI: An Open Discussion on AI Use in Higher Education

21 January 2026
Online

This Executive Briefing will feature perspectives from a global student panel, whose feedback and perspectives will provide a qualitative complement to the DEC AI Student Survey results and deepen our understanding of AI’s influence on education and learning. The briefing will also feature key findings from our Latin America AI in Higher Education Survey offering an evidence-based view of how generative AI is shaping learning behaviours, academic engagement, and institutional practice.

This briefing will put students at the centre of the conversation. Their perspectives are crucial in shaping academic policies, curriculum, and the direction of the higher education industry as a whole. The panel discussion will centre around understanding what students value and need from higher education in the face of an increasingly AI-driven world and how they are currently using – or misusing – AI in their academic and professional contexts.
